Objective of the symposium
Demonstrate the importance of biomechanics, regardless of the type of orthodontic treatment selected.
You will learn how to design 3D biomechanics, how to apply biomechanics concepts when using clear aligners, mini-implants, segmented arch technique, and how to be efficient treating impacted teeth and molar up-righting. Also, you will learn the biomechanics -TMJ relationship and many other topics.
Scope: Train orthodontists and orthodontic students to learn to apply biomechanics concepts, impacting the clinical efficiency of treatments. By learning these concepts, You will be more efficient, saving treatment time.

Biomede
Biomede is an esteemed group of orthodontists spanning the globe, founded in 2019 under the leadership of Dr. Giorgio Fiorelli and Dr. Birte Melsen ( as honorary member), and is dedicated to advancing the understanding and application of biomechanics in orthodontics.
Our mission is multifaceted, encompassing the promotion of biomechanical education in orthodontic practice, the advocacy of biomechanics’ pivotal role in orthodontic treatment, and the preservation of the legacy left by the pioneers of biomechanics in our field.
To fulfill these objectives, we host symposiums biennially. The inaugural gathering took place in Doha from January 24 to 26, 2019, followed by a post-pandemic event held in Rome in 2023 and our next event will take place August 22 and 23/2025 in the beautiful city of Cartagena in Colombia
